Another Macbook-Repair Job

I’ve just transfered my internal hard disk into an extrenal usb housing in preparation for another mac repair tomorrow. I’m going to have my beloved white macbook repaired at this trustworthy store.

The macbook is going to get it’s fourth (!) topcase within three years. Furthermore Wifi is broken and the display is flickering. So to summerize … macbooks aren’t build to last at all. The Apple Care Protection Plan payed out well. If having summed all repair cost, I’m definitely above 1000 Euro repair cost. New display, a lot of top and bottom cases, new logic board, new power supply. Wait a sec … what is even an original part, still?

The strange thing about all this is, that I nevertheless find myself being actually happy about having purchased the mac. I cant wait to get a new unibody macbook in summer. The deal with apple is easy: The downsides (expensive, proprietary policy, lack of hardware quality) do not overweight the upsides at all. It stays an awesome product, even if it could be better …
